The Shield® is a full size Vertical Pivot Lift anti-ram crash barrier system. The Shield® is available in Department of State (DOS) K-12/ASTM M50 and K-8/ASTM M40 rated models. It is also available in a K-4/ASTM M30 version, engineered under FEA.
The Shield® pivots open to 90 degrees and has a clear opening of up to 15 feet. Because The Shield® pivots vertically, it is not impeded by blowing debris, snow, or tight spaces. Gates are built custom to specifications and can be matched to building facades and perimeter fencing. Design features include deep foundations, heavy duty bolsters, extreme weather tolerance, and numerous access control options.
In addition, The Shield® contains all electric systems – no hydraulics are involved. Like our standard Vertical Pivot Lift gate entry system, built-in battery backup prevents security lapses during power outages. When in the normal mode, The Shield® functions as a standard entry gate and restricts pedestrian access in addition to vehicle traffic.
