A driver led CHP officers on a chase near Naval Air Station Lemoore Wednesday night.
Two people are now dead.
There’s quite a bit of damage at the base.
CHP says the chase ended after the car crashed into one of the jets on the south side.
It all started with someone driving the wrong way on Highway 198.
The car crashed through the gates and hit an FA-18.
One person in the car died at the scene.
The other at the hospital.
Neither one had any military affiliation.
NAS Lemoore was not a target of any kind.
All checkpoints to the base were properly manned.
It’s not known just yet how much damage was done to the jet.
CHP isn’t saying why the driver wouldn’t pull over just yet.
No officers were hurt.
An investigation is now under way.
